Pals~~A dedication

Aven honey . . . . you are going to be so confused if you ever do make it home.  You may have the only mom that loves Westerns and Kung Fu movies and who puts loyalty before the frivolity of “playing nice” just because it looks good, regardless of how it feels.  It is with that in mind that I dedicate the following video from one of my favorite movies of all time.  I am a big Billy the Kid fan.  He didn’t always do things “law way”, but his heart was always in the right place . . . and he never forgot who his friends were that stood by him.  So . . . . this video is dedicated to my Pals.  The ones who have been there for 5 years and watched my heart bleed as I lost 3 children.  The ones that have been there for the last 1.5 years watching my struggle to get to you.  The ones that have never let me down.  The ones that always gave me the benefit of the doubt.  The ones that held me up when I thought I just couldn’t take it anymore.  The ones who stepped up to the plate because I needed them; not because they needed me.  You all know who you are.  A real Pal always does.  If you think I am talking about you, then I probably am.   I hope that someday Aven gets to meet all her Aunties and Uncles that are so beloved by her mommy and daddy.   Merci Beaucoup . . . please to enjoy . . . .

Oy! Alicia . . . I took pics of my balls.

But I haven’t had time to post them yet.  I took several pics that I need to post.  Just wanted to clear up any confusion for those that might see your comment about wanting to see my balls.  Are we all clear now?  I’m going to post a pic of my balls soon.  Promise!

OK . . . ya got me.

So I was poking about my blog stats and saw that someone from this website was reading my blog.

If you are still reading, your video on your site was quite compelling.  I know that each state has their own version of the services that you provide, but you have done a wonderful job of capturing my interest and reminding me that there are many ways to be a mom and dad.  Might I adopt all the children you featured in your video perhaps?

It never ceases to be mind-numbing how many people I know that would give and have given everything they have to be parents juxtaposed to the number of sick parents who mistreat and abuse their children.  I am not sure I will ever be able to square that one in my head.

Is there anything I can do for you?

“They like me . . . they really like me!”

Pardon me while I get my Sally Field on . . .

There came a knock at my door last night and I looked pretty scary when I answered as I was doing my end of year decluttering.  It was a man with a camera.  YIKES!  A friend of mine wrote to Oprah  about me (that is another story) so I thought “DANG!  Please don’t shoot . . . the picture that is!”.

Anyway, not to fear.  Turns out after living here for 8 years, my husband’s Yuletide exterior illumination  skills were finally recognized and tauted.  We were not officially notified by the HOA, but the cameraman is on the board, so he assured us that we won and wanted permission to take the picture for the newletter and website.  Oh how glorious!  We WON something!  I feel less sorry for my neighbors now.  I had just hours earlier told my neighbors’ daughter to apologize to her parents for me as we have every intention of leaving all the Christmas stuff up until Aven comes home.  After peeing on herself laughing, she said she’d be sure to tell her mom.  I told her that could mean Buddha Claus and his sleigh and reindeer twinkle until July if necessary.  She laughed harder.  Kelly E. . . . . be sure to tease Sherrie about this at work!  Anyway . .. . after the glow of victory slowly began to fade, my husband leaned up from the sofa and asked . . .. “Did he say which category we won?”

They have a Tacky Award, a Novelty Award and a Traditional Award . . . . . I never ax’d which one we got . . . .Perhaps that is why we never got a call . . . .

D’oh!

P.S.  No news.
